Non-compliance of SHC orders by Customs: KCCI members suffering

Members of Karachi Chambers of Commerce (KCCI) are suffering due to non compliance of Sindh High Court orders by the Customs in connection with the valuation of goods. This may result in heavy demurrage and detention charges. On February 28, 2011 Sindh High Court had passed the order regarding the valuation ruling U/s 25A of Customs Act 1969.
As per the orders "the valuation rulings impugned thereby (and corresponding orders in revision, if any) are quashed and set aside." The concerned officer may, in each case, make a fresh determination of the customs value of concerned category of goods U/s 25A "in the light of what has been stated herein above within 90 days from February 28, 2011.
