11 Mar, 2011

The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Thursday said that it would provide free legal assistance to heirs of Faizan Haidar, Faheem and Ibad-ur-Rehman, who were killed by Remand Davis, an alleged CIA operative, in Lahore.
The free legal aid committee of the council, which met here with Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry in the chair, said that the brutal killing of the trio at the hands of a US national in broad daylight was highly regrettable and demanded of the government to take the accused to task and award him exemplary punishment through due process of law.
The committee also decided to offer all possible legal assistance and help to legal heirs of deceased in respect of the double murder case against Raymond Davis in the court of law in Lahore. The committee also strongly condemned assassination of Shahbaz Bhatti, federal minister for minorities' affairs by terrorists and demanded of the government to bring the culprits to book and award them exemplary punishment at the earliest.
