Achieving success: Muslims must make education a priority: Jamil

Religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil has stated that Muslims have to take decisions to change their lives to make education a priority and attain the glory of Allah Almighty and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a ceremony titled "Hubb-e-Rasool (PBUH) Aur Is Kay Taqazay" in connection with Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), organised by Punjab University Student Teacher Centre headed by Advisor Students Affairs, Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad, at Faisal Auditorium on Thursday.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Javed Ahmed presided over the ceremony, which was attended by thousands of people. In his address, Maulana Jamil stressed the need to bring changes in the lives by following the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), receive education and build character on high moral grounds. He said that one has to adopt the teachings of pious life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the routine matters.
He further said to get love of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) we should avoid speaking ill-words and be polite and humble. He said man came to the world as ignorant and one should get knowledge to get rid of ignorance and the largest knowledge is of Almighty Allah. "Allah's orders are perfect without any doubt," he maintained.
The religious scholar said that The Holy Qur'an was sent not only to be read, but also to be understood. Almighty Allah Himself has expressed love with the greatest personality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Holy Qur'an and the qualities of all prophets are present in Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). "To abide by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will save us from the fire of hell," he articulated.
Therefore, he continued, younger generation should follow the orders of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and avoid materialistic world". He called upon the students to receive education so that they could avoid the slavery of the West. He also advised them to behave well with parents which is fortunate for them because only those can feel their absence who do not have this blessing. Later, Maulana Tariq Jamil offered Dua for the wellness of society and solidarity of the county.
Earlier, in his presidential address, Professor Dr Javed Ahmed said a new history is going to be written with the address of Maulana Tariq Jamil. He hoped the address would prove a light of guidance for students, teachers and employees of the varsity. Advisor Student Affairs, Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhry said Maulana Tariq Jamil has been playing a pivotal role for the promotion of Islam. Renowned Naat Khawan, Hafiz Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani recited Naat on the occasion while Oriental College Principal, Professor Dr Mazhar Moeen narrated Ahadiths.
