Film director Masood Parvez's anniversary observed

Renowned film director Masood Parvez is being remembered on Thursday on his 11th death anniversary. He was one of the most successful directors that Pakistan's film industry possessed. He was born in 1918 in Amritsar and had acted in a few films before partition. He was related to Saadat Hasan Manto from his father's side, a private TV channel reported.
After migrating to Pakistan, he directed his first film Beli in 1950 and then continued to make memorable films for almost three decades, which include Intizar (1956), Zeher-e-Ishq (1958), Koel (1959), Jhoomar (1959), Sarhad (1966) Heer Ranjha (1970), Haider Ali (1978) and Khak Aur Khoon (1979). He was died in Lahore on March 10, 2001.
