'Notorious' criminal held

Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal involved in several serious offences at Yousuf Goth in the limits of Surjani Town police station.
According to details, a CID team, headed by SSP Mohammad Fayyaz Khan received tip off that a notorious criminal namely Benaam Muharram Machi alias Mehro, who involved in several serious offences including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom, robbery, etc, was hiding in the said area.
Reacting on the said information, a CID team has conducted raid at Yousuf Goth and arrested Mehro with a TT pistol and five rounds. The CID officials said the accused Mehro, who was injured in an encounter, revealed during initial course of investigation that he committed over 100 serious offenses, including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom, etc at different districts of Sindh.
They said the Sindh government has announced bounty of Rs 0.5 million on his arrest and added that further probe in this regard was underway to dig out more facts from him. Moreover, the CID officials said that police constable Mohammad Kashif was also injured in an encounter.
