HERA fee concession policy: educational institutions directed to ensure compliance

The Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has strictly directed all the concerned educational institutions functioning in the province to comply with the policy of half fee concession to the students' real brothers and sister.
The directives was issued in the light and spirit as laid down in Chapter-IV under Class-II of the Article 106 of the Education Code 1935 and as per the decision of the Peshawar High Court, Peshawar dated 1-2-2011 which is as under, "when two or more real brothers and sisters attend the same school or different schools in the province, only the brother or sister in the highest class of a school shall be required to pay the full rate of fee. The fees payable by other brothers and sisters shall not exceed one half of the ordinary rates".
HERA issued directives to the elementary & secondary education department, chairmen, BISE and directors, schools & literacy department and directors of regulatory authorities and BISE in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to issue necessary directives to all institutions affiliated and working in their territorial jurisdiction for ensuring full implementation of the court decision.
