Chief Justice Nepal inaugurates IT centre at LHC

The Chief Justice of Nepal, Ram Prasad Shreshta, has underscored the need of extending co-operation among the South Asian countries to promote judicial system in the region. The Chief Justice of Nepal along with his delegation here on Friday inaugurated a new IT Centre at the Lahore High Court (LHC) for SMS and email service.
Earlier, the delegation comprising chief justice of Nepal and other judges was warmly welcomed by Chief Justice Lahore High Court Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and the judges on the arrival of the guests at LHC. The inauguration was held in the middle of a simple but impressive ceremony hosted by LHC CJ and the judges after a detailed presentation by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of the LHC to delegation history of LHC and functioning of judiciary in Pakistan.
Guests were told that the new IT initiative of SMS and Email service was taken by IT department and the judicial Branch of the Lahore High Court to inform lawyers and litigants timely about the fixation of their urgent cases by sending SMS on their mobile phones and through email.
The counsel and the litigants are requested to submit their mobile numbers and Email address with the urgent cell of LHC. Earlier, the delegation held a detailed meeting with the LHC CJ and other judges and asked questions about the judicial system of Pakistan.
The CJ of Nepal desired increasing co-operation and exchange of judicial delegations so that an ideal system of dispensation of justice could be evolved in the region. Justice Tahir Ali Ansari of SC of Nepal and wife of Chief justice, Nepal also accompanied the delegation. They also invited CJ LHC and other judges to visit Nepal.
