We would like to draw your attention to the news item appeared in your esteemed daily on March 7, 2011 titled "Increase n age limit of used car PAMA facing split after govt decision". In this regard we would like to state that there has never been any split amongst the PAMA members over the government decision of relaxation in the age limit of import of used cars or other proposed adverse policy changes currently appearing in the press.
All our members hold consensus views and are of the firm belief that policy change of increasing the age limit would have serious adverse consequences for the local industry and that it would give support to foreign auto industry, leading to a disaster for the domestic industry.
