Two-day scientific symposium held

A 2-Day Scientific Symposium held at Post Graduate Medical Institute/ General Hospital in which more than 400 doctors and senior specialists participated. 13 Pre-symposium workshops in different medical and surgical disciplines were held. Out of these 3 were exclusively for nurses and paramedical staff.
While addressing the concluding session of the symposium, Principal PGMI Professor Tariq Salahuddin urged upon the doctors to pledge themselves with the research work and their mission should be to seek the knowledge for updating their professional expertise. The Vice-Chancellor LUMS Professor Ahmad Jan Durani was the chief guest. In his address Professor Durani highlighted the importance of research in this day and time.
He also stressed upon the organisers to continue such scientific activities on regular basis, as it is the best way of adult learning. Professor Shabir Ali, Secretary of Organising Committee said that the research papers were presented in the scientific session before the participants and senior teachers of the medical field. State of Art lectures by Professor Ijaz Ahsan and Professor Farrukh A Khan were worth-listening and highly appreciated by the participants. Principal Dr Tariq Salahuddin informed the participants that keeping in view the need of time and interest of participants, it is decided to hold such annual symposium on regular basis.
