MQM team meets Zardari: Qaim asked to ban People's Amn Committee, says Rehman

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has been instructed to ban People's Amn Committee, this was stated by Interior Minister Rehman Malik in a joint press conference with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation late Tuesday night, Aaj News reported.
The MQM delegation comprising Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, Dr Farooq Sattar, Raza Haroon and Dr Sagheer Ahmed called on President Asif Ali Zardari while Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Agha Siraj Durrani assisted the President.
Decisions of the meeting were later communicated to media at a joint press conference of leaders of both the parties. Talking to media, the Interior Minister said that the MQM delegation apprised the President about their reservations who assured them that action will be taken against all the criminal elements irrespective of their political affiliation.
A committee comprising four members, two from each party will be constituted to review the law and order situation in the city and will submit its report after 15 days. It was also agreed during the meeting that both the parties will not issue statements against each other. Talking to media, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said MQM has decided to end the boycott of Sindh Assembly, adding that President Asif Ali Zardari has assured to address the reservations of MQM.
