Benazir Bhutto's murder: LHC approached for transfer of case

16 Mar, 2011

Former Rawalpani Police Chief, Saud Aziz, has approached the Lahore High Court, seeking transfer of his bail matter from Rawalpindi bench to Lahore. Aziz, through his counsel Khawaja Sultan, submitted that LHC Rawalpindi bench might be influenced by top government functionaries and he has no hope of justice from them.
He requested the court to issue orders for transferring his bail application, pending before the Rawalpindi bench, to Lahore. He also requested the court to grant him bail as he was implicated in the case despite having no role in it. Aziz was arrested on December 22, 2010, with another police officer, Khurram Shahzad, in former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto's murder case after cancellation of his bail by a Rawalpindi court.
