Apple was already expected to release three new iPhones in 2018 and now according to new reports, the phones will also have a metal back casing in order to protect it from shattering.

After going through issues with iPhone X breaking easily and after getting a lower ranking in Consumers Report due to this, Apple has decided to feature a metal back in its upcoming flagship, similar to that present in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7+, said a report by Nikkei Asian Review.

Of the three iPhones, two of them might come in with OLED displays, following iPhone X, while the third one will feature a 6.1-inch basic LCD display with a metallic back. Also, where one phone will have iPhone X’s similar 5.8-inch screen, the other one would have a 6.3-inch display.

Report suggests Galaxy S8 has overthrown iPhone X

One of the phones, which will probably be called iPhone 9 or iPhone XI, would have a single change in its design that will be the metal back along with the aluminum body featuring many new colors too.

A report by a Japanese financial firm, Nomura, suggested that the models will have similar specs like that of iPhone X including Face ID but with one major change: dual SIM support. The third of the three iPhones would be meant for mid-range segment and would range somewhere between $650 and $900. The third model will only feature a single lens camera without Apple’s Force Torch.

However, these reports can prove to be wrong as well as they are only predictions till yet and according to CNET, Apple did not immediately responded to the story.
