Cable operators announce strike

Cable Operators Association has announced a 24-hour strike on Saturday, adding that all cable channels will remain shut and only official TV will be aired, a private TV channel reported. Cable operators' association chairman, Khalid Arain made this statement at an emergency press conference at his office late Friday night.
Criticising the Geo group, Arain alleged that Pemra was conducting raids on their cable networks across the country on the instructions of Geo TV. He threatened to prolong the protest if their equipment seized by Pemra not returned to them, the channel added.
