Chief of Pakistan Muthida Kisan Mahaz (PMKM) and Convenor Water and Power Action Committee, Ayub Khan Mayo said on Saturday that new taxation measures of the government has proved that the rulers are following the dictation from US, IMF and World Bank.
These views were expressed by him while addressing a conference on 'Water and power crisis and its solution' attended by the farmers belonging to four divisions of South Punjab, traders, lawyers and people from civil society. President Punjab Chapter of PMKM Murad Khan Baloch was also present on this occasion. Briefing the media after the conference, he said silence of the rulers over Indian aggression was meaningful and PMKM would arrange demonstrations against it on Indo-Pak border. Ayub said that participants of the conference urged the government to introduce reforms in already installed projects having capacity of generating 19600 mw of electricity and also start immediate construction on approved Hydel power projects having capacity of 40,000 mw electricity generation.
