Hina calls on Prime Minister Bhutan

State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar called on Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Yoezer Thinley of Bhutan on Saturday. Khar appreciated the leadership of His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wanchuk and Prime Minister Jigmi Yoezer Thinley and the efforts made by Bhutan for enhancing regional co-operation, development and peace.
Future co-operation in various development sectors also came under discussion. She discussed ways to strengthen co-operation between the two countries in the areas of hydropower generation, education and training. Prime Minister of Bhutan welcomed strengthening of co-operation between the two countries in the fields identified by Khar. He also appreciated the role played by the Pakistani delegation in the success of the SAARC Summit held in Bhutan last year. The minister also underscored the importance Pakistan attaches to its bilateral relations with Bhutan. She recalled the historical, cultural and traditional ties between the people of Bhutan and Pakistan.
