Eight more fall prey to targeted killings

After a brief lull, the target killings restarted in the city on Saturday, as eight people including six political workers were killed in different parts of the metropolis. According to details, an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was shot dead and another injured in Agra Taj Colony, within the limits of Kalri police station.
The victims Mohammad Yousuf, 28, son of Akram and Imran, 27, alias Shera, were targeted by two armed men at Rafiq Building Ghausia Colony Agra Taj where they were sitting at a meat shop. Resultantly, Yousuf died on the spot while Imran sustained injury. The body and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities and medical treatment. Police said both the deceased and injured were activists of MQM. A case (75/11) was registered on complaint of the deceased's brother Aslam.
Another MQM man was killed at Burns Road in the limits of Aram Bagh police station. The victim, Kashif, 25, son of Mohammad Ahmed was murdered by unknown armed pillion riders when he was sitting at his decoration shop. Similarly, an activist of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was gunned down near Mina Bazaar in Pir Ilahi Bux Colony in the remits of PIB police station.
The victim, Zulfiqar, 26, alias Zulfi, was killed by unidentified armed men when he was sitting with his friend in front of his home. Police said the victim was an activist of PPP and member of People's Amn Committee (PAC). His body was shifted to CHK for post-mortem and later handed over his heirs. Police registered an FIR No 78/11 against unidentified men on the complaint of his uncle.A sympathiser of Awami National Party (ANP) was killed by unknown attackers at Marhaba Restaurant located at Scout Colony in the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station.
The deceased Naimatullah, 42 son of Haji Khan was sitting in Marhaba Hotel Scout Colony block 4-A Gulshan Iqbal, when unidentified armed men fired multiple shots on him. Resultantly he died during treatment at a private hospital. In another incident, the president of Meat Merchants welfare Association (MMWA) and also a former unit in-charge of MQM was killed along with his younger brother in Bakra Piri in the remits of Kalakot police station.
The victim, Saleem Qureshi, 45, was going in his car with his brother, Naeem Qureshi, when two armed men riding motorcycles opened indiscriminate firing on them in Dhobi Ghath area. Resultantly, both sustained bullet wounds and succumbed to their injuries on the way to CHK.
Police said the victims were the residents of Khadda Line Bakra Piri and added that the deceased Saleem Qureshi, who was the former unit In charge of MQM was also the president of MMWA. No case was registered till filing of this report.
An estate agent was shot dead while another injured in Siddique Goth at Taiser Town within remits of Sarjani police station remits. The victim, Abdul Mannan Bengali, 42 son of Hameed was targeted when he was sitting with his friend, Iqbal Raza, son of Qamar Raza at Ameer Ali estate agency in Siddique Goth Taiser Town. Resultantly, Abdul Mannan died on the spot, while his friend Iqbal sustained injures. In another incident a man was shot dead while his two sons received bullets injures at Pukhtoonabad in the precincts of Manghopir police station. Some six armed men barged into the house of Abdul Hannan, 52, son of Rozi Khan located in Pukhtoonabad and opened indiscriminate fire. Resultantly Abdul Hannan died on the spot while his sons, Ameer Jan and Abdul Mannan, sustained injures. Police shifted the body and injured to ASH. A case 67/11 was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of Mannan.
