Capital police arrest 22 suspects

Islamabad Police have arrested 22 persons for their alleged involvement in a dacoity, keeping illegal weapons, gambling and also seized one car, mobile phones, two pistols, hashish, looted items and stake money, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police, here on Saturday.
SHO Margallah Police nabbed six criminals identified as Paras Ali, Naveed Abbas, Mohsin Ali, Hashmat Khan, Tahir Jaffery and Shehzad. During the course of search and preliminary investigation police seized 350 gram charas, mobile phone and looted items worth Rs 16,000.
The accused Paras Ali was proclaimed offender in theft and drug peddling cases while accused Hashmat had been involved in car and mobile snatching incidents, the spokesman said. Shehzad Town Police Station team led by SHO Inspector Mubarak Ali raided a gambling den in `Jabbi' and nabbed eight gamblers namely Imran Shah, Faqir Muhammad, Muhammad Rashid, Muhammad Kashif, Rafiullah, Muhammad Fayyaz, Ahmad and Abdul Ghafoor along with stake money of Rs 35,000, gambling equipment and four mobiles phone.
Aabpara Police arrested Faheem Akhtar and recovered a tempered Corolla car (LEC-9016) while Golra police apprehended Murtaza Shah for having 300 gram charas. Sabzi Mandi Police nabbed an accused Iqbal for having 30 bore pistol, 20 rounds while Nilore Police arrested Sajjad Hussain for having 300 gram charas and Sihala Police arrested a thief Nur Muhammad and recovered 30 bore pistol from him.
CIA Police arrested two mobile thieves Faisal and Khaleeq and seized mobile phones while Bhara Kahu Police nabbed Raja Haras for having one wine bottle. SSP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan has directed all the police officials to accelerate efforts against the criminals and ensure public safety. He said that suspicious elements should be monitored and community must be involved in ensuring successful and effective policing.
