SBI organising international 'Halal conference' from March 22

In a move to capture a substantial share in US$1.31 trillion Halal product market, Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), in collaboration with Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), Malaysia is organising a two-day International Halal Conference from March 22 to 23rd in Karachi.
This was stated by Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Advisor to Chief Minister on Investment along-with Mohammad Younus Dagha, Secretary Investment at a press briefing held at SBI office, here on Saturday. He said the conference would cover several issues including prospects of Halal industry in Pakistan, Halal certification & standards, development of Halal Park, Halal trade promotion, business match making, awareness & training, exposure on HDC capacity development programme and exposure to MATRADE'S market Development Grant (MDG).
Advisor to CM on investment said that the conference will be a manifestation of the commitment of both the SBI and HDC to effectively implement provisions of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed between the two parties on December 1, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur for development of Halal sector in Pakistan.
