As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is organising two CFO conferences in Karachi and Lahore on March 22 and April 5, 2011 respectively, with the theme "Scaling New Heights, Facing New Challenges".
The Chairman of the Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Roger Tabor will give the conference keynote in Karachi whereas Hussain Dawood, Chairman Dawood Group and Dr Ishrat Husain, Dean and Director Institute of Business Administration will be the guests of honour in Lahore. The events are expected to be participated by around 1000 professionals.
Key topics to be discussed in the conference will be professional accountants in business - need and opportunity, CFOs as future directors, raising finance through capital markets, prudent management of employee pension/provident funds, current fraud trends, the CFO's role in driving business value, Pakistan's macro-economic picture and the prospects ahead, a talent for people: leading the finance team, navigating through the storm: How to Manage the Financial Issues of a Company in Crisis.
