22 Mar, 2011

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday sought report from Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) about the families of Fahim and Faizan, killed by Raymond. The court directed the CCPO Aslam Tareen to appear in person before the court on Tuesday along with detailed report about the whereabouts of families of Fahim and Faizan after the release of Davis by Diyat compromise.
The court was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Malik Munsif Awan advocate submitting that after the 'compromise' with Davis the families are missing. Awan, who had been counsel of the families, said that families of the both deceased were missing since March 15. He apprehended that somebody had kidnapped them and kept them under illegal detention.
In his petition, Awan made federal interior minister, Punjab home secretary and Punjab Inspector General of Police as respondents in his petition. He submitted that neither provincial nor federal governments were taking responsibilities about their whereabouts. He therefore, prayed to the court to direct the respondents to produce the abducted families before the court and set them at liberty.
