Joint session held under heavy security

The Joint session of the Parliament was held here on Tuesday under heavy security blanket in the Capital. Besides deployment of Rangers, Frontier Constabulary, Islamabad Police and Anti-terrorist Squad, Air Surveillance was also carried out to avoid any untoward incident.
Strict checking of vehicles and pedestrians was ensured at all entry and exit points of the Federal Capital, while the entry in the Red Zone was banned for all types of vehicles and pedestrians. The strict security measures resulted in heavy traffic jams at all entry and exit points of the city.
Only vehicles with special passes issued for Joint Session of the Parliament were allowed entry in the Red Zone while the Special Guard of Police escorting ministers and other VVIPs were also denied entry to the Red Zone and were allowed parking at D-Chowk. Besides, deployment of paramilitary troops in the Capital, all wings of Islamabad Police including Operational Police, CID Department, Security Division and Special Branch, Commandoes of Islamabad Police, Lady Police, mobile patrolling squads, mobile eagles, Bomb Disposal Squad, personnel of Quick Response Force were put on high alert.
