Need stressed to bring reforms in economic system

"Recent economic system has given nothing except hunger, famine and starvation to the people of Pakistan by creating monopolies in the private sector industries." These views were expressed by prominent labour leader Habibuddin Junaidy while addressing the office bearers of Central Executive Council, members of Regional Woking Committees of Habib Bank Workers Front of Pakistan (CBA), Karachi division at a conference.
Junaidy said there is monopoly of private sector over trade and industry, especially banking industry. It is a fact that there is an unbearable rise in the rate of inflation, poverty and unemployment for which capitalist and businesses are responsible. He demanded legislation to end the monopoly of the sector over the banking system and industries of Pakistan. He also demanded due role of the government in setting up commercial banks by investing in profitable industries to rid public of inflation and unemployment.
In her address, Syeeda Nadira Parveen pledged to resolve the challenges being faced by the workers of Habib Bank and their rights would be protected. She demanded the authorities of Habib Bank and other commercial banks to give job opportunities to women on priority basis.
Senior Deputy Secretary, Nasiruddin Mehmood Regional Convenor Jamal Niaz, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Haji Shahid Sultan, Deputy Convenor, Mehmood Alam, Muhammad Hussain, Azhar Pathan, Qari Ghulam Mujtuba Hazarvi, Zubair Khan and Usman Sheikh also spoke on the occasion.-PR
