All measures being taken to improve law, order: Sindh chief minister

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that provincial government was taking all measures to improve the law and order situation not only in Karachi but across the province. He was talking to newsmen after laying floral wreath and to pay homage to the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah at Mazar-e-Quaid here on Wednesday.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and provincial ministers were also present. He said law and order was the prime responsibility of the provincial government but at the same time it was also responsibility of the masses to extend co-operation to government to maintain law order situation in the metropolis and in other parts of the province.
"We have the co-operation of MQM to maintain law and order, I also invite other parties to come forward and join hands with the government in this regard," he said. Shah said the law enforcement agencies had made arrests of miscreants and terrorist elements from various parts of Karachi. Replying to various queries, he said issue of terrorism was not confined to Karachi but other parts of the country as well and government was making concerted efforts to tackle the challenge.
