A flag hoisting ceremony to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the historic Pakistan Resolution was held at Pakistan Embassy in Berlin, Germany, says a press release received here on Thursday. Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany Shahid Kamal hoisted the national flag with national anthem playing in the background in an impressive ceremony.
It was largely attended by Pakistani community residing in Berlin and its surrounding cities and the officials of the Embassy. The Ambassador read out Pakistan Day messages of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minster Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. In his message, the President called upon the people of Pakistan not to allow anyone to usurp the fundamental rights of people and trample on their democratic aspirations.
Ambassador Shahid Kamal while congratulating the Pakistani community urged them to be united and strive for earning a good name for their country. He said that all Pakistanis living in Germany should strengthen and harmonise their relations with German people.-PR
