Artwork exhibition of Jimmy Engineer held

Selected art work exhibition of prominent Pakistani artist of international repute Jimmy Engineer titled "A Journey" was held at the Aitchison College to kick off the Founders Day celebrations of the 125 years old great educational institution of the sub-continent.
On display were 30 prints of the selected paintings including architectural compositions and six famous Pakistan Movements painting series. Aitchison College Principal Fakir Syed Aijazuddin inaugurated the day long exhibition which was organised by the Art Society of the college in connections with the Founders Day celebrations in the presence of a good number of teachers and students He along with Jimmy Engineer, teachers and young students then took a round duly appreciating the selected art work displayed.
Speaking on the occasion, artist Jimmy Engineer who had specially come from Karachi for the solo display of his selected work said the young students are the future hope of the country and it is the younger generation which have to build a united, progressive and forwards looking Pakistan.
He said the students should in particular see the Pakistan Movement paintings prints in order to apprise themselves how this country had come into existence after the struggle and sacrifices of the millions of Muslim men, women and children.
Welcoming Jimmy Engineer, Principal Fakir Syed Aijazuddin said that Jimmy Engineer as well as his vast art is the asset of the country. He said Jimmy Engineer has done well to paint in minutest details the greatest migration of human beings from one territory to other since the era of Hazrat Moses so that people remain aware of the struggle made and sacrifices offered for the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims under the inspiring leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam.
He also thanked Jimmy Engineer for donating more than 80 prints of his selected paintings out of which 30 have been displayed in the exhibition. President of the Art Society Salar Fawzi Khwaja also welcomed the well-known artist whereas General Secretary Mustafa Mohsin presented portrait of Jimmy Engineer, which he had himself made.
In the afternoon, Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa, who was the chief guest at the college's Founders Day function, also visited Jimmy Engineer's selected artwork exhibition and highly appreciated the exhibits. He felicitated artist Jimmy Engineer for such impressive and engrossing art work and Principal Fakir Syed Aijazuddin for organising such a useful exhibition from which the young students could learn a lot.
Large number of former students of the institution from all over Pakistan, India and other countries attending the Founders Day functions also availed the opportunity to visit Jimmy Engineer's selected paintings prints exhibition. Jimmy Engineer was present to show them around and answer their pertinent queries about his artwork and art related activities.
