Capital police to take part in afforestation activities

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani said that Islamabad police always took part in activities of national importance, a part from playing its role for raising mass awareness about environment and climate change.
The police will play its role in making Islamabad greener through taking part in afforestation activities along with other institutions, the IGP said while planting a sapling during Huawei Tree Plantation drive at Pak China Centre, Islamabad on Saturday.
He said that the Police Department feels proud to share its role in various tree plantation campaigns and said that all wings and police line headquarters is being made green with the objective of contribution in making climate clean. Senators Mushahid Hussain Syed, Nilofar Bakhtiar and other diplomats were also present who appreciated the resolve of Islamabad police in making the city clean and green.
DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan said that Islamabad Police will make every possible contribution to make city green, besides accomplishing its basic responsibilities to bring peace and tranquility in the lives of the citizens. He said that Islamabad police during the various tree plantation campaigns have ensured the involvement of students, volunteers of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), representatives of traders community and people from various walk of life with only objective to ensure clean and pollution free environment in the city.
