Qadri managed to deploy himself in Taseer's security squad: witness informs court

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) was informed by a witness in Salmaan Taseer assassination case that the shooter Mumtaz Qadri got himself in security of the slain Governor Punjab on January 4. The Duty Muhrer of Rawalpindi Police Lines Omar Farooq in his statement recorded by the ATC on Saturday stated that Elite Force commando Mumtaz Qadri was made part of Governor Punjab's security detail on his (Qadri's) insistence.
Raja Ikhlaq Hussain, Judge of the ATC II resumed the hearing of the Salmaan Taseer assassination case in high security prison, Central Jail Adiala. The court recorded the statements of three more prosecution witnesses later adjourned the hearing till April 2. It is pertinent to note that Malik Mumtaz Husain Qadri, an Elite Force Commando confessed before the court that he had killed Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer on January 4 in Kohsar Market of F-6/3 of Islamabad's high security Red Zone.
