Siemens Energy said on Sunday the German company and partner Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co received an order for a power plant in Abu Dhabi. The contract for the Shuweihat 3 combined-cycle plant was awarded by Japan's Sumitomo Corp and Korea Electric Power Corp, a Siemens statement said, without giving the value of the deal. In October, Korea Electric and Sumitomo said they won an order for the Shuweihat 3 independent power plant project valued at $1.5 billion.
Siemens will supply four gas turbines, two steam turbines, six generators and electrical systems while Daewoo will be responsible for ancillary and auxiliary systems and civil works, Sunday's statement said.
