US MIDDAY: corn, soya and wheat slip

US corn futures fell about 1.5 percent on Monday on light profit taking in the absence of government confirmation of new corn sales to China, which was believed to have bought 1.25 million tonnes last week. Soybean acreage was estimated at 76.87 million, below the USDA outlook's 78 million forecast and below last year's soy acreage of 77.404 million.
Chicago Board of Trade May corn futures fell 10-1/2 cents, or 1.5 percent, to $6.79 per bushel by 10:54 am CDT (1554 GMT), while May soyabeans were a penny lower at $13.57-1/4. CBOT May wheat slipped 0.6 percent to $7.29 a bushel. May milling wheat on Euronext added 1.5 percent to 240.25 euros a tonne.
