The District Development Committee has approved various new development schemes including development of district sports complex at a cost of Rs 5.265 million. DCO Naseem Sadiq said that under the scheme, the carpet construction of ring road in court premises would be carried out besides pavement of roads around the new chambers and establishment of parking area for the organised vehicle parking in the courts.
The committee also approved the 7 uplift schemes of constructions of roads in different parts of the district at a cost of Rs 10.44 million and 4 schemes of upgradation of schools at a cost of Rs 18 million. The committee passed the 3 other schemes of construction of roads at a cost of Rs 15.32 million under DAP and MPA package.
Moreover, the approval of 2 development schemes of constructions of boundary wall and new classrooms at a cost of Rs 2.2 million under CCB programme was also given during the meeting. The DCO, while reviewing the progress of the ongoing development schemes and initiating the new schemes, directed the officers of executing agencies to carryout regular monitoring of the construction work for ensuring the completion of these schemes.
He said that the uplift projects should immediately be handed over to the concerned department after its completion and debris/unused material should be removed from the site. He directed that the departmental action should be taken against the contractors involved in use of substandard building material. During the meeting, the pace of development work of the green belts at different roads of the cities, construction of filth depots, establishment of public toilets at different sites and other ongoing schemes were also reviewed.
