Chairman Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan (IPO-Pak) Hameedullah Jan Afridi has said that consumers and inventors' rights would be protected by introducing fair business practices and strict compliance with relevant laws to achieve the targets of IPO.
"Effective and result-oriented measures would be adopted to manage and protect Intellectual Property Rights in Pakistan under different IP laws including Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, Integrated Circuits and Industrial Designs," Afridi said during a meeting of the officers of IPO here on Friday. He asked officers of IPO to work with devotion and dedication to fulfil the national and international obligations.
He said that all countries in the world are focusing on development of intellectual property system and protection of IPRs for supporting national industrial growth and economic development. Afridi said that these objectives would be achieved only with active participation of all stakeholders and experts. The meeting was attended by Director Messaq Arif, Muhammad Ahmed Gondal, Inam-ul-Haq, Syed Nasrullah, Asif Iqbal Bangash and other concerned officials.
