Annual mela held at DHA school

A colourful annual mela/carnival was held at Defence Authority Public School (O&A Levels) here on Thursday. The theme of the carnival was "Community Focus" and the school students accordingly highlighted various community services being performed by them as a part of education. Mustafa Kama, former nazim Karachi, himself an icon and a motivating figure for community services was the chief guest on the occasion.
Mustafa Kamal said that the menace of intolerance in society was the greatest threat to the nation. He said that the present generation was generally contaminated by this menace whereas intolerant attitude and lack of respect and capacity to tolerate others point of view was eating the vitals of the nation.
He said that the new generation of youth which constitute 65% of the population constitute hope for the nation. He said that the young generation should be given comprehensive education and training in such a manner so as to produce enlightened, forward looking and dynamic individuals of society. Mustafa Kamal appreciated the community services works being done by the school students. He termed the community services as a most noble and laudable work done for the welfare and betterment of down trodden people and for those affected/displaced by natural calamities. He said that community services played a pivotal role in the progress and welfare of the nation. Earlier the Principal, Iffat Rashid described Mustafa Kamal as a motivating and galvanising force for community services and urban development works. She also highlighted the various community related services performed by students of the school.-PR
