05 Apr, 2011

Frontier Custom Agents Group and All Torkhem Custom Clearing Agents Association has expressed its conditional consent to the order of Collectorate Customs Peshawar regarding e-filing of Goods Declaration at Torkhem with uninterrupted power supply, DSL and other basic facilities.
These views were expressed by a delegation of Custom Clearing and Forwarding Group delegation led by Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, which called on Collector Customs Peshawar, Younas Khan here on Monday. Chairman Frontier Customs Agents Group, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi apprised Collector Customs that custom clearing and forwarding agents are ready for e-filing of every sort of shipment if these facilities are provided to them at Torkhem.
The delegation members told Collector Customs that due to non-availability of these facilities, it is almost impossible for them to e-file goods declaration. They said the staff members of PRAL are already working manually and, therefore, they should also be allowed to work in the same manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Customs, Younas Khan said government would soon construct a well-equipped Customs Port at Torkhem for the facilitation of the clearing agents. He also agreed with the delegation members that without provision of facilities it would be impossible for agents to make e-filing of transactions.
