Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICO) has tried to bring about national, economic and social transformation by improving the quality of corporate governance in Pakistan. To achieve this goal, PICG has been striving to make its Director Education Programmes, initially Board Development Series (BDS) and now upgraded Corporate Governance Leadership Skills (CGLS), accessible at frequent intervals to all key stakeholders involved or affected by corporate governance.
In line with this goal and keeping in mind the upcoming director certification deadline, PICG went one step further in providing convenience to out-of-city (Karachi) directors and senior executives by introducing CGLS Director Education and Certification Programme through video conferencing. The first of its kind programme was available to directors and senior executives in Lahore as well as Karachi.
At Institute of Chartered Accountants Pakistan, the PICG initiative was well received by directors and senior executives of various prominent companies, including EFU Life Assurance, EFU General Insurance, State Life Insurance Company, Gut Ahmed - Textile Mills, Shield Corporation, Zulfiqar Industries, Askari Bank, First Habib Bank Modaraba, KSB Pumps, SNGPL, Mitchell's Fruit Farms and Bhanero Textiles. Despite much anticipated Pakistan-India semi-final, attendance was impressive with 17 delegates in both the cities.-PR
