Islamabad Police resolve 1,393 criminal cases

Islamabad Police during the first quarter of 2011 have succeeded in resolving a total of 1,393 criminal cases through effective investigation. During the first quarter 19 murder cases, 23 attempt to murder cases, 30 dacoity related cases, 397 drug trafficking and possessing illegal weapons, 79 theft cases and 605 miscellaneous cases were successfully investigated during the current year, said Naeem Iqbal spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Tuesday.
He said that total of 1393 cases were filed in different courts after completion of investigation, while 70 cases were re-submitted into courts concerned after removing the objections. All 14 police stations of the Capital City and its CIA branch have played their effective role in tracing the cases and in completing the investigation, the spokesman said.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani categorically asked the SSP Tahir Alam Khan, SPs of all zones, SDPOs and SHOs to ensure transparent investigation of the cases without any delay, he said. SSP Tahir Alam Khan stressed the police officials to provide maximum relief to the complainants visiting police station and ensure investigation on merit.
The Police spokesman said that City Police investigated 387 cases and referred them to courts, while 17 false cases were dislodged. In all, 17 cases were re-submitted into courts after removing the objections on them. Saddar Police refereed 398 cases to courts after investigation. A total of 19 cases were dislodged after being found fake, while 27 objectionable challans were resubmitted into courts.
Industrial areas police investigated 292 cases and referred them to courts, while 10 fake cases were dislodged. Around 14 cases were re-submitted into courts after removing the objections. Rural Circle Police refereed 318 cases to courts after completing investigation. A total of 14 cases were dislodged after being found fake, while 14 objectionable challans were resubmitted into courts.
SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has directed to intensify efforts against anti-social elements to ensure the arrest of at large criminals. He has directed the policemen to dispose off cases on merit and warned that sluggish attitude in this regard would not be tolerated.
