Punjab Food Safety and Standard Authority(PFS&SA) Act 2011 is almost ready and will soon be presented in the provincial assembly for approval and earliest implemented. This was stated by the Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor while chairing a meeting here Tuesday regarding Punjab Food Safety and Standard Authority Act 2011.
The meeting was also attended by other members of authority, including Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Malik Pervaiz Ahmad MNA, Secretary Law and Secretary Food Punjab Irfan Elahi. The meeting besides finalising the penalties and fines under Punjab Food Safety and Standard Authority Act 2011 also evolved strategy to close the business and bringing such elements to justice who would be found involved in adulteration.
Speaking on this occasion the Minister further stated that implementation of Punjab Food Safety and Standard Authority Act 2011 will help to provide adulteration-free edibles to the people. He said that adulteration-free food items are not available to the most of people. He said that setting up of this authority will bring adulteration mafia to justice so that pure and hygienic food could be provided to the people.
