A gunman fatally shot 12 people at a Rio de Janeiro school before killing himself, police said on Thursday. The incident apparently was unrelated to the city's gang violence. "A former student entered the school with a weapon. It is not known why he fired," said Colonel Ibis Pereira of Rio de Janeiro's Military Police. He said at least 20 people were wounded in the attack.
