Punjab government requests Chinese Company to complete Lahore Ring Road

The Punjab government has requested a Chinese Company in the completion of the Lahore Ring Road. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif asked a delegation of Xinjiang Beixin Road and Bridge Construction Company China (led by its Chief Operating Officer Zhaomingshang) for its co-operation during meeting that was held here on Monday, disclosed an official. During the meeting they exchanged views with regard to co-operation in infrastructure sector in Punjab.
Talking to the Chinese delegation, the Chief Minister said there are deep routed friendly ties between Pakistan and China and they have great regard for Chinese co-operation in the progress of Pakistan. He also said there are vast prospects of co-operation in infrastructure sector in Punjab. "The Punjab government has completed northern loop of Lahore Ring Road in a record period of time and now we want to start work on southern loop of the project and the Chinese Construction Company has also evinced its interest in this project. This project can be launched as BOT or joint venture," he added.
He asked the Chinese company to consider co-operation in the project of southern loop of Lahore Ring Road and Secretary Communication and Works should give detailed briefing to the Chinese delegation in this regard.
The members of Chinese delegation said they have visited northern loop of Lahore Ring Road and have been greatly impressed due to quality construction of the project. They said they would consider co-operation in the construction of southern loop of Lahore Ring Road; their company has already completed four different projects in Pakistan and is also working on a number of projects in the country, they added.
