Punjab budget: 'allocation for education increased by 70 percent'

Punjab government has made 70 percent increment in the educational budget as compared to previous governments. Present year is the year of promotion of education and as a result of primary enrolment campaign, achieving 100 percent literacy rate of Punjab by 2015 is our target.
These views were expressed by Provincial Minister for Education, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman while addressing the function of National Youth Awards 2010 at Al-Hamra Hall, here on Monday. He said that more than 60 per cent population consists of youths below 30 years of age and these youth are the custodian of future of the country. He said that after 18th constitutional amendment, formulation of youth policy is responsibility of the provinces. He said that Punjab government is already paying special attention to the youth and under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, it has allocated all resources for the youth.
