Punjab Agriculture Minister, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh has urged the growers to take advantage of one-window operation of Zarai Taraqiati Bank for extending loans for timely sowing of khareef crops. Talking to a delegation of growers here Monday, he said that submission of applications for agricultural loans has already started from April 4, 2011.
He informed that growers, having 25 acres of land in irrigated areas and 50 acres of land in Barani areas, could obtain loan from the Zarai Taraqiati Bank through a passbook. Aulakh said that according to the programme of mobile credit, officers would be receiving applications from growers on every Monday at Markaz level and the bank would be issuing loan within three days of submission of application.
He urged the growers to take full advantage of ongoing projects of the provincial government in agricultural sector and ensure meeting targets of sowing and production of khareef crops. He also urged them to increase per acre yield to achieve self-reliance and improving their economic health.
