Punjab chief minister for achieving fixed targets, timely completion of uplift projects

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that all energies should be utilised for achieving fixed targets and timely completion of development projects. He stressed upon the Divisional Commissioners, District Co-ordination Officers and concerned departments to spare no effort for this purpose.
He was addressing a meeting held to review the pace of implementation on Annual Development Programme, special packages for big cities and mega development projects in southern Punjab here on Monday, disclosed an official. Senator Ishaq Dar, Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Ministers Nadeem Kamran Malik, Muhammad Iqbal Channar, Members National Assembly Tehmina Daultana, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Board of Punjab Chairman, Secretary Finance, Divisional Commissioners and secretaries of concerned departments were present.
The chief minister said he would review the pace of implementation on development projects after three weeks and the Chief Secretary after every 10 days. "The administration and concerned departments of first three districts showing best performance in transparent, high quality and timely completion of development projects will be encouraged at a special function and the Chief Secretary should evolve a course of action in this regard," he added.
According to him, the Punjab government is utilising all available resources for rapid development of the province and providing basic amenities to the masses. Timely and transparent completion of all development projects is also being ensured so that people could benefit from their fruits at the earliest. Special attention is being paid to the development of backward areas and the development work carried out during the last two and a half years in southern Punjab was unprecedented.
He expressed his satisfaction over the pace of work and the ratio of utilisation of funds in development projects. He said almost two and a half months are remaining in ending of current fiscal year and this period is of great importance with regard to completion of development projects, therefore the pace of work on development projects be further accelerated.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa informed the meeting about the progress of development projects in the province. Planning and Development Board Punjab Chairman Javed Aslam gave detailed briefing about the implementation on Annual Development Programme, big cities, special district packages and Southern Punjab Development Programme (SPDP).
