The Lahore High Court here on Tuesday rejected request for stay against show-cause notices issued by Chief Secretary Punjab to Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officer on charges of misconduct. The court observed that first of all it would be determined whether this petition is maintainable or not and adjourned the proceedings to April 19 to decide the maintainability of the case.
PCS Officers Association President, Rai Manzoor Nasir has contended in his petition that they observed peaceful protest against their genuine demands. Yet Punjab government had initiated disciplinary action against them, ostensibly to take revenge from them. He prayed to the court to suspend the operation of show-cause notices to meet the end of justice.
