The driving schools, which are operating illegally have been given ten-day deadline to get registered or stop operation, said Mir Vais Niaz, Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic here on Thursday. The unauthorised driving schools were given ten-day deadline by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) to get their registration otherwise serious action will be taken against them, he said while talking to reporters.
He said that such driving schools will have to get their registration from ITP and necessary information or guideline may be obtained from the traffic office as well. Process to get registration is very much simple and the purpose behind the initiative is to ensure quality training to those candidates joining schools to learn efficient driving techniques through qualified instructors, he added.
Niaz said there are some complaints that some driving schools minting money from the candidates and do not take interest in imparting quality education about traffic rules as well driving techniques. Due to the lack of interest on the part of instructors, immature drivers meet with accidents and can not become a good driver, he said.
