Ranger personnel, dacoit killed in separate encounters

Police claimed to have killed an alleged dacoit and arrested other while lost Saachal Rangers' personnel during separate encounters at different parts of metropolis here on Thursday. According to North Nazimabad SP Asad Choudry, two alleged bandits, who were trying to flee after looting valuables from a physician of private hospital Dr Sabih at gunpoint near Paposh Chowk, were intercepted by police patrolling party.
Instead of surrendering themselves, they offered resistance and fired indiscriminate gunshots. Resultantly, the personnel of Saachal Ranger namely Nawaz, who was travelling in a high roof, received strayed bullets on his chest from back and succumbed to his injuries on spot. Thereafter, police retaliated and injured one of the alleged bandits while other managed to flee under the cover of firing. He said the alleged bandit, who was later identified as Jawed and a resident of Banaras, was arrested with four cell phones and a TT pistol.
In another incident, Samanabad police also claimed to have killed an alleged dacoit at F B area block 20 opposite Edhi Morgue and recovered two cell phones and a TT pistol from his possession. According to SHO Samanbad Mumtaz Ali Magsi, three suspects, who were roving in a rickshaw, tried to escape under the cover of firing on police interception. He said one of them; 30-year-old unknown was killed on police retaliation while his other accomplices managed to flee from the scene. Police registered a case 53/54 on the compliant of state against them.
