DHA Phase-VIII: infrastructure development work completed

16 Apr, 2011

The infrastructure development work in DHA Phase-VIII including construction of major arterial/collateral roads, lying of water supply networks, sewerage system, underground electric cable, construction of grid stations and sewerage treatment plants were being completed swiftly with a renewed impetus.
DHA Administrator Brigadier Aamer Raza Qureshi informed the delegation of DHA Phase-VIII, led by its President Dr Khalid Butt, in a meeting held at DHA Main Office to discuss various problems of the residents. Concerned DHA officials were also present on the occasion. He said that DHA Phase-VIII Dev Dte was fully geared up to promptly solve the residents problems including streetlights, sewerage, road repair and bushing cutting etc till the time the area was handed over to CBC for maintenance function.
The Administrator elaborated that roads, streets and sewerage network made in DHA Phase-VIII a decade back had mostly deteriorated and became un-serviceable due to non-use and non-maintenance since not many residents had yet inhabited the area. He said the infrastructural facilities therefore were being again reconstructed/re-laid and a huge expenditure on lying underground electric transmission lines and construction of electric sub-stations were being by DHA to give impetus to development and construction activity in the area.
He said the huge development expenditure and exorbitant rise in construction cost explain the dynamics of levying additional development charges in the area. He however promised that the demand to give suitable relief in additional development charges to the residents who got A&B leases prior to levying of these charges would be favourably considered at the appropriate level.-PR
