Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has recommended recruitment of 668 qualified nurses in the facilities managed by provincial health department, a senior official told newsmen on Monday. The recommended nurses will be inducted in BPS 16, as the posts have been upgraded from grade 14 to grade 16 that made mandatory for professionals looking for government jobs to appear before the commission.
"The department is presently facing shortage of nurses and many of its tertiary care facilities are also in dire of adequate nursing strength," he said. In reply to a question, he said more than 200 nurses were needed at Civil Hospital Karachi. The recruitment process, he said, would be completed in a month's time, expected to be materialised by mid May this year.
Giving details of the recruitment process, he said all the 668 candidates, pertained to general cadre of nursing had appeared in the written tests as well as interviews conducted by the provincial public service commission.
