19 Apr, 2011

Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaquat Baloch has said President Zardari filed ZAB reference for diverting peoples' attention from real issues like price hike, corruption and unemployment. He further said that in fact, the PPP leadership had filed the ZAB reference to hide its numerous other crimes.
However, now that the pandora's box had been opened, many other issues, including the martyrdom of Dr Nazeer Shaheed, Abdul Samad Achakzai, Moulvi Shamsud Din, student leader Waheed, the role of the notorious FSF, and the Nath Force, killings at educational campuses, etc would also come under discussion.
Baloch said that a reference against Bhutto's hanging in the murder case of Nawab Muhammad Ahmed Khan was before the Supreme Court now and the court verdict would be in accordance with the constitution, the law and the judicial traditions. He expressed the hope that the PPP would not play the Sindh card on this issue and would accept the court verdict wholeheartedly. Above all, fall of Dhaka, the most tragic chapter of Pakistan's history along with the crimes of civil and military bureaucracy would also be discussed. He said that the nation could never forget Z. A. Bhutto's role in disintegration of Pakistan.
The JI secretary general counseled President Zardari to pay attention to the people's problems instead of creating bitterness in national politics. The government, he said, should take concrete steps to overcome the problems of price hike, poverty and corruption instead of adding to the peoples' problems.
