CDGL's anti-encroachment drive continues

City District Government of Lahore on Monday demolished 40 ramps, 18 sheds and 13 stairs on a stretch of 36 kilometres in nine towns on the 36th day of its anti-encroachment drive. CDGL teams also confiscated 18 shop signboards, disclosed a spokesperson. He said that at-least 35 truckloads of the confiscated goods from nine towns have been shifted to CDGL godown.
Elaborating, he said that in Wagah Town, 17 truckloads of moveable encroachments were confiscated from a stretch of 20 kilometres of Karol Bazaar, GT and Sultan Mahmood roads. In Shalamar Town, one truckload of moveable encroachments was confiscated from GT and central roads of Shadbagh. In Iqbal Town, 10 ramps, 18 sheds and six stairs on College Road of Township were removed while 18 signboards and three truckloads of moveable encroachments confiscated.
In Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, two truckloads of moveable encroachments were confiscated from Urdu Bazaar, Chauburji, Abid Market, Laxmi Chowk and Pir Makki area. In Nishtar Town, 20 ramps and two stairs on Ferozpur and Kamahan roads besides Tippu Chowk were demolished. In Aziz Bhatti Town, one truckload of moveable encroachments was confiscated from Canal, Zarar Shaheed, Allama Iqbal, Jahangir, Soling and Quaid-i-Aiwan roads.
Similarly, in Gulberg Town, one truckload of moveable encroachments was confiscated from Faisal Town, Kotha Pind and Allama Iqbal Road, in Ravi Town, two truckloads of moveable encroachments were confiscated from Badami Bagh auto market stretch of two kilometres.
