Islamabad Police busted two gangs of car-jackers and dacoits and arrested nine persons from whom two stolen cars, five pistols, drugs and other commodities were recovered, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Tuesday. Shehzad Town Police in a prompt move busted a gang of dacoits and nabbed five dacoits who earlier faced imprisonment in car-snatching cases and recovered illegal weapons from their possession.
On a tip-off, Shehzad Town Police led by Inspector Raja Tahir Hussain SHO raided the graveyard at Kuri Road and nabbed the dacoits who were planning for crime. The detained outlaws were identified as Gul Ayaz, Ayaz, Farhad, Bimsillah residents of Charasada Peshawar and Nur Syed resident of Mehmand Agency.
During the preliminary investigation, the detained robbers have confessed their involvement in incidents of kidnapping for ransom, snatching vehicles in the area of Shehzad Town, Sabzi Mandi and Koral Police stations, the spokesman said. Further investigation against the detained outlaws is underway and police team is hopeful to get more important information from them, he added.
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Police arrested an accused Ashraf for his involvement in car-lifting, as one car bearing registration No MBB-3353 was recovered from his possession. The detainees revealed to police that the car was stolen from the area of Airport Police Station Rawalpindi.
Industrial Area Police during a routine patrolling stopped two persons and on search two pistols (30-bore) were recovered from them. The detainees were identified as Sher Afzal and Abdul Waheed. Shalimar Police during a routine checking stopped Ishaq Khan at a check point and recovered 510 gram charas from him. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of Shehzad Town Police team and directed all police officials to continue strict vigilance in their respective areas.
