Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has alleged that gunny bag in Sindh are being distributed amongst ruling party workers, waderas and influential people, while the ordinary growers are running from pillar to post to sell their wheat at government rate.
This was alleged by the KBP Central President Sardar Zafar Hussein Khan after a meeting with KBP Sindh President Dr Abdur Razzaq Khosa, said Board's Secretary Information Haji Muhammad Ramzan here on Thursday. Secretary General KBP Malik Muhammad Ramzan was also present in the meeting.
KBP leaders alleged that growers in Sindh were forced to sell their produce to middlemen and flour millers at Rs 800 per maund instead of support price. They also criticised imposition of section 144 on inter-district transportation of wheat in Sindh. They urged the Supreme Court and High Court to take notice of irregularities in wheat procurement and save growers from loss.
